GJ Restaurant Resource

We're beginning a program of documenting Paleo-friendly restaurants in the area and would like your help. If you have identified restaurants that support your desire to eat healthy - as in, local and/or organic produce, grass-fed beef, and menu items that do not include high-glycemic carbohydrates like grains or sugar, we invite you to share those discoveries with us.

We're beginning to get reports of restaurants that fit the description above so we know they're out there, and we'd like you to know where you can eat out without compromising on the diet you know you should have. Contribute restaurant names, addresses, and any other information you have in the Comments section of this post, or by sending an email to jane@gravityjanes.com.

We'll post the results on the Performance Paleo Blog as they are compiled.

This is an awesome idea. We have yet to find a good Paleo restaurant. Wish someone would open one that's 100% Paleo/Organic/Grass-Fed so we could have more options for going out!

Love that iSushi. Great sashimi, and they have gluten free soy. Also it is easy to customize any order from the chefs.

If you really need to take the kids out, Red Robbin can pass with the Lettuce Burger. Burger wrapped in lettuce, and a side salad instead of fries. Remember to request no tortilla chips on the salad, and you should be fine.

Chang's Mongolian Grill in Renton. Being buffet style stir fry. You have total control of what goes into your meal. Every herb, oil, meat or veg. The only thing they may add is a little water when they grill it in front of you at the huge round grill. Even the kids love to go there.

Amante Pizza and Pasta. Wait.. they have a low carb menu. No pasta or pizza in sight. 5 items that seem to only have cheese against them in the paleo realm and a ton of different salads. It is very tasty.

In a pinch when out of the office or when you can't pack a lunch, Jimmie John's "unwich" is pretty good. They take your favorite sandwich and wrap it in lettuce instead of bread. It basically is vegies, and your favorite meat--turkey, roast beef etc.

I get mine without cheese, mayo or dressing and have a handful of almonds.

Thanks for this update. I forgot all about Chipotle and the Indian restaurants. I so love this type of food.
